Deadly storm and tidal surge batter northern Europe

urricane-force winds and tidal surges have killed at least seven people in northern Europe, flooded parts of Hamburg and left thousands of homes without electricity. Mexico: Stolen radioactive material found

A pair of thieves in Mexico may have stolen more than they bargained for when they targeted a truck this week. The stolen vehicle was carrying delicate cargo -- a radioactive element used for medical purposes that also can be used to make a so-called dirty bomb. Bolshoi acid attack: Soloist Pavel Dmitrichenko jailed

A Moscow court has jailed Bolshoi Ballet soloist Pavel Dmitrichenko for six years for organising an acid attack on the company's artistic director. China space: 'Jade Rabbit' lunar mission blasts off

China has launched its first lunar rover mission, the next key step in the Asian superpower's ambitious space programme. A Mozambique Airlines flight crashed in northeastern Namibia, killing all on board, a government official told CNN on Saturday.
