November 1st: Stories of Strength Released - Click Here To Order
Stories of Strength

Born in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, this anthology shares stories about what it takes to beat the odds. More than 100 writers contributed these essays, fiction and poetry to raise money for disaster relief efforts in the region. Featuring writing from Orson Scott Card, Wil Wheaton, and Robin Lee Hatcher. At times tear-jerking, at times humorous, this book is guaranteed to inspire and remind readers that the human spirit knows no boundaries.

We Rock!

Well, the “net-sneeze” Richard referred to was pretty bad timing– my cable went out just before the book’s official release, so I didn’t get to see the “grand opening”– but right now it’s 9:36 on the night of the release… and we’ve already sold 101 books and raised more than $500 for disaster relief. In less than one day. I can’t tell you how excited all of the other writers and I are about this. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Please help us keep the donations flying in. Put up a flyer or two around the office, link to us from your website or blog, tell people about our project.

Our goal is $100,000. Bookmark this site and see how long it takes for us to beat it!

This is purely a test.

I’ll throw another in to get a string going.

Hurrah for Strings!

To recap - Gravatars work by associating an image with your e-mail address, hence no uploading to get an avatar going. Worth doing - plenty of sites on the web support them. If you don’t have a specific one, you get the washed out flower image.

Here goes again Richard. Site looks good. Ladies and Gents, Stories of Strength is a must-have, and a must-read. It’s soooooo motivating, uplifting and inspiring.

Vanessa J. Kyles — November 2, 2005

Will there be a nifty graphic on this page, to show the progress toward $100,000?

The site does indeed look fab. Jenna, I’m enormously proud of you and will do what I can to get the book the publicity it deserves.

A thermometer thing? No reason there couldn’t be, I suppose.

Richard — November 3, 2005

I just ordered my copies, and three other people just emailed me to tell me they’ve ordreed theirs. Yay us!

Patti Wigington — November 3, 2005

I’m ordering copies for people without Internet access, plus some gifts. Others are telling me that they ordered books. We’re on the way!

Sharyn Bowman — November 4, 2005

Yeah! A thermometer graphic would be cool. :) And thanks for getting the comments working, Richard! You’re faboo.

Jenna Glatzer — November 4, 2005

No problem. I’ll sort something out over the weekend.

Richard — November 4, 2005

And by that, I mean ‘there you go’.

Richard — November 4, 2005

Is this the site of ask and ye shall receive? It sure seems it’s on that roll and you guys rock!

Janet — November 5, 2005

If it’s a website thing, sure ;-)

Richard — November 5, 2005
